Director of Learning & Development, Powell's Books

As director of learning and development for Powell's Books, Robin Fruitticher is responsible for the team that oversees hiring and employee development for the country's largest independent bookstore company. Powell's is located in Portland, Oregon, and has more than 500 employees.The team develops online learning, manages the company LMS, oversees two leadership development programs and management training, and leads new employee onboarding, in addition to managing the company intranet content and hiring software program. She's been with Powell's for 24 years and has been in learning and development with the company for 21 of them. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Florida, a master's degree in international studies from the University of South Carolina, and certificates from Portland State University in e-learning for trainers and management of training.


Brian Carlson

CEO & Co-Founder, eThink Education

Brian Carlson co-founded eThink Education more than nine years ago and today has oversight of the entire operation. He brings more than 15 years of education technology experience, including six years at SunGard HE (now Ellucian) as a senior technical consultant, where he worked extensively with student information systems. Carlson holds a bachelor’s in physics and astronomy from the Evergreen State College and is active in advising entities on e-learning initiatives through outside advisory roles such as his seat on the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board.


Randy Jones
Randy Jones

VP of Business Development & Strategy, eThink Education

As vice president of sales, Randy Jones is responsible for overseeing strategy and execution for direct sales and eThink’s channel network. He joined eThink in 2014 and brings more than 12 years of education technology experience to the organization, including four years with the New York Times and four additional years providing virtual course material platforms. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor’s degree from Towson University.


Daniel Vecchi

VP of Channel Operations, Americas, Totara Learning Inc

Daniel Vecchi is a vice president of channel operations at Totara Learning, supporting the Totara Partner Network across the Americas. As an established leader in internationalization, Daniel has successfully led teams into new and competitive markets developing complex projects with multiple stakeholders in the private sector, government, and educational institutions. Having spent most of his life and career working in new countries in the Western Hemisphere, Daniel speaks English and Spanish. He holds an MA in international relations and economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
