Shannon Benham is the International Talent Development director for United Parcel Service, the world's largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain solutions, serving more than 220 countries and territories and employing over 400,000 people.
During her 20-year career with UPS, she has held multiple roles as a Human Resources director within both the United States and Europe, along with diverse business units such as UPS Supply Chain Solutions, UPS Capital Corporation, and The UPS Foundation. These varied assignments have given her knowledge and insight to provide useful solutions in her current role: coordinating leadership and talent development strategies for all countries and businesses outside of the United States.
Prior to relocating to Atlanta in 2010, Shannon was based in Brussels Belgium as the Director of Learning and Development for UPS businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Stephen Jones has been employed by UPS during his 23-year professional career. Currently, he is the director of international training & development, with responsibility for developing training curriculum for leadership development and job-specific skills in more than 200 countries. He began his career as an unloader, from which he was promoted into part-time operations management, and then went on to other responsibilities as a full-time driver and management roles in industrial engineering, sales, package operations, and human resources.
He earned a BS degree in applied physics from Weber State University, an MA in organizational management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master's certificate in project management from George Washington University. He serves on the advisory committee on apprenticeship to the United States Department of Labor Secretary and is considered by the USDOL as one of the leading experts on generational learning in the United States. He has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Kathryn Larson, New Markets Specialist, has worked with UPS on several key leadership initiatives. She has been with The Regis Company for five years managing global client engagements. Larson began as a designer/developer of immersive learning programs and performance support systems and later shifted into account management. The introduction of the Internet as a learning tool sparked a personal vision for Kathryn, and she co-founded a successful startup, Granite Technologies, in 1998. The company built an award-winning, online performance support platform that continues today and is now translated into more than 13 languages.
Her current role includes consulting on initial design, needs analysis, program gate reviews, and relationship management. Her educational background includes a BS degree in geology and postgraduate work in geology, organization development, and education.
Wei Wang is the Director of International Relations, for the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals.
In this capacity, she manages ASTD International Partners from more than 20 countries, develops and supports member convening and networking programs, and facilitates the exchange of knowledge among the global learning and development community.
Wei's other role at ASTD is Manager for the ASTD Global HRD Community of Practice. In this role, she supports professionals around the world to share regional best practices, conducts global benchmarking, and discusses cross-cultural and global talent development issues.
Wei holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Master in Management from Nankai University in China. She is also a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP). Ms. Wang speaks Mandarin and English.
Ms. Wang has published articles in numerous industry journals and has spoken at international conferences and workshops in China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, and the U.S.A.
