Cristina Gardner, APTD started her career at a Fortune 500 Market Research company in Brazil. In 2001, she moved to the USA and shortly became a member of the local ATD-South Florida Chapter to develop her network and immerse herself into the American culture. Through the chapter and her new connections, she was able to deepen her expertise as a Talent Development professional in her new home country.
As a life-long learner, in 2014, Cristina earned her OD Process Professional Certification ODPC - through the Institute of Organization Development. Later, she decided to pursue her APTD certification in its inaugural year of 2017. Since then, every year she has volunteered as a reviewer for ATD™'s Excellence in Practice Awards in several categories, something she enjoys doing as it keeps her current about different Learning and Development projects in the worldwide arena.
In 2017, she joined the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and in 2021, she was promoted to the Organizational Development Manager of a district of 650 employees. In her position, Cristina performs as an internal consultant, interacting with a highly diverse group of customers from all levels. In part, Cristina credits her promotion to her APTD and ODPC Certifications, which bring credibility to her practice and experience. A graduate of University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Physical Education, Cristina has also earned a master's degree in marketing from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM), Brazil.
Cristina is a multi-lingual and multi-cultural professional who believes in exploring and learning as much as possible about others.
Learning and Development Relationship Manager, Plante Moran
Jen Caylor, CPTD, began her career in learning and development ten years ago, working in a variety of roles in the learning space, including healthcare education, higher education, program administration, instructional design, and relationship management. Jen currently works as an L&D relationship manager at Plante Moran, one of the nation's largest public accounting and professional services firms.
Throughout her career, Jen has sought to bring fresh perspectives grounded in adult learning theory and learning science to the organizations she supports. She strongly believes that learning is a journey, not an isolated event, and brings this philosophy to her clients, coworkers, and learners. In her current role, she is heavily focused on client relationship-building, seeking to establish L&D as a trusted advisor to the clients they support.
Jen graduated from Central Michigan University with a Master's degree in Educational Technology in 2019 and is now pursuing her second graduate degree in Administration, with a focus in Talent Development. She earned her CPTD designation in April of 2023 and was elected to the board of her local ATD Detroit chapter as VP of Communications in November of 2023. She is also a certified trainer of the Getting Things Done methodology through Crucial Learning.
Outside of work, Jen enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and three children, who keep her busy with multiple sporting and music events.
Theresa Decker, CPTD serves as the corporate Learning and Development Manager at Jack Henry, a financial technology company that provides a wide variety of technology solutions to banks and credit unions. She has worked in Talent Development for over 7 years, in both the international humanitarian relief and fintech industry. Over her career, she has gained experience in communications and project management, nonprofit programming, and community education, which has provided her with a unique skillset for corporate learning. Her passion is to equip people and organizations to thrive by aligning corporate learning with strategic organizational priorities. In her personal time, she loves to read in front of the fire with a cup of hot tea at hand.
