Tamar Elkeles is head of human resources for XCOM Labs, a wireless technology company propelling the next mobile revolution. Prior to holding this role she served as chief talent executive for Atlantic Bridge Capital, a global venture capital firm focused on technology investments. Previously, Tamar was the chief people officer for Quixey, a Silicon Valley tech start-up, and before that she was the chief learning officer (CLO) at Qualcomm. In her nearly 25-year tenure as CLO at Qualcomm, she helped grow the telecommunications organization into one of the most successful companies in the world. There she led the development of Qualcomm’s workforce, scaling the employee base from 700 to more than 31,000 employees worldwide. In 2010 Tamar was named “CLO of the Year” by Chief Learning Officer (CLO) magazine and in 2014 was named “Top Influential” by the San Diego Daily Transcript for her significant impact and leadership in the technology industry. In addition to her executive roles, she has authored three books: The Chief Learning Officer, Measuring the Success of Learning Through Technology, and The Chief Talent Officer. Tamar is a member of the board of directors for GP Strategies and serves on the CLO magazine editorial board and the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Chief Talent Development Officer (CTDO) Next board.
Jayne Johnson started her professional career with General Electric (GE), having held a series of leadership positions, starting in IT and eventually transitioning into HR, where she has dedicated the majority of her career. She spent time in quality assurance, strategic staffing, and learning and development—the last six years of which were at GE’s John F. Welch Leadership Centre, also known as Crotonville. While there, she was responsible for GE’s leadership development curriculum and the customer education team, providing strategic consultative services and training to GE’s customers. She moved to Deloitte in 2010, where she customized learning at the firm’s new Deloitte University for high-potential partners and principals, building a deep bench of experienced leaders with the capabilities required to deliver Deloitte’s strategic and financial targets. Prior to her most recent role as a strategic advisor/consultant she served as head of talent and learning and development at Alkermes and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, two biotech companies in the Boston area. Jayne has been a member of several boards, including the Institute for Corporate Productivity’s (i4cp) chief learning and talent officer board, the Southern Connecticut chapter of ATD, as well as the Executive Committee of The Conference Board’s (TCB) executive council for talent and organizational development. She is a contributing author for Building an Award-Winning Learning Organization, ATD Press, launch date December 2020.
Kevin D. Wilde currently serves as an executive leadership fellow at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He teaches applied leadership in several graduate courses. His current research topics include leadership coachability, executive derailment, and contemporary talent development. In 2015 concluded a 34-year corporate career in leadership and talent development at General Electric and General Mills.
During his time at General Mills, the organization was consistently recognized for its innovative development work, highlighted by Fortune’s #2 ranking as one of the best companies in the world at leadership development, #1 listing by Leadership Excellence magazine, #1 Global Learning Elite ranking, and Training magazine’s hall of fame designation as a top company for employee development. In 2007, Chief Learning Officer magazine selected Kevin as CLO of the year.
Kevin continued to be an active contributor to the leadership and talent development profession with business advising and writing. His advisory work has benefited the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp) and GP Strategies. In 2011, his first book, Dancing With the Talent Stars: 25 Moves That Matter Now was published by Human Capital Media. In 2015, he served as editor of A CLO Leadership Reader: Chief Learning Officer Magazine’s Best for Today’s Learning Leader. His writing for talent management received a national award for editorial excellence from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. His work has also been published in more than a dozen books, including Coaching for Leadership and the Pfieffer Annual on Leadership Development.
