Emily Ferguson is the assistant vice president in corporate learning solutions, which is the department within UMUC that coordinates all their corporate alliances. Emily and her team establish and manage UMUC's employer alliances, which include organizations from both the public and private sector seeking to enhance their employee recruitment, development, and engagement initiatives through higher education.
Richard is president of Behavior Consultants and Global Learning Partners LLC, specializing in executive coaching and leadership and organization development. His experience as a clinical psychologist, nonprofit executive, civilian working with the military, and actor enable him to work well with diverse clients from administrative staff to senior executives in any industry. He has more than 25 years’ experience providing leadership and organization development consultation, facilitation, change management, and diversity training services to a wide variety of private and public-sector organizations.
Richard earned a PhD and master’s degree in clinical psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Richard is a certified coach for the Center for Creative Leadership and serves on the faculty of the National Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland and the Uniformed Services University. A licensed psychologist, Richard is certified in a wide spectrum of psychological and leadership assessment instruments.
Bob Lavigna is an award-winning public-sector leader and innovator with more than 30 years of experience leading public-sector HR organizations and programs. Bob’s book, Engaging Government Employees: Motivate and Inspire Your People to Achieve Superior Performance, was published by the American Management Association and is now in its second printing.
He is currently the director of the Institute for Public Sector Employee Engagement, a division of CPS HR Consulting, an independent government agency. The institute is dedicated to helping public sector and nonprofit organizations measure and improve employee engagement. In July 2016, he retired from the position of assistant vice chancellor and director of HR for the University of Wisconsin.
