Julian L. Alssid is a nationally recognized expert in workforce development innovation and policy. He has more than 20 years of experience working with decision makers who seek to grow the economy and create a pipeline of skilled talent.
Prior to joining College for America, Julian founded the Workforce Strategy Center, where he advised more than 20 states on workforce policy and established himself as a leader in promoting effective, practical solutions for implementing career pathway initiatives. Julian has also held senior positions in education and workforce development at the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce (now the Partnership for New York City), LaGuardia Community College, and the Office of the Mayor of New York City.
Aimée Skinner is a director of professional development at Anthem. She has more than 20 years of experience that includes learning and development, human resource management, talent acquisition, strategic workforce planning, and talent optimization. Aimée joined Anthem more than 11 years ago, and the company has since experienced tremendous growth, as well as significant changes to the industry. Her focus has been on the human capital needs of the business, in particular innovation to accommodate the demand for talent. As a result, Aimée led the implementation of many new processes, systems, and programs to develop talent pipelines. Understanding the key attributes of successful individual performance and a competency framework was critical to these talent acquisition, assessment, and development initiatives.
