Managers often experience training programs that do not achieve their expectations for improved business results. Many are under intense pressure to hit non-negotiable performance targets and need the kind of support that achieves the required business results.

This presents several challenges for the L&D professionals who try to help. For instance, the L&D team cannot always count on the manager’s expectation to provide clear guidance for L&D work. A solution to this predicament is to learn how to achieve Level 4 business results in any situation. This prepares the L&D team to provide managers with the support actually needed, even when not explicitly requested.

In this webinar, James Pepitone will brief you on what experienced work design consultants know about how to increase business results that are specifically dependent on people. James will help you see and understand the broader system of challenges involved. He also will share numerous stories from his work partnering with his client’s training and development functions to create Level 4 business results. James Pepitone
James Pepitone

Managing Partner, Designed Work

Dr. Pepitone is a managing partner at DesignedWORK, specializing in the design of knowledge work and the productivity of knowledge workers. Jim’s current work focuses on advising operations executives and managers on transitioning to more productive work design and management practices. He also volunteers as a contributing practitioner-scholar and trustee for the nonprofit Humaneering Institute.

Previously, Jim was the managing director of Pepitone Berkshire Piaget, an operations improvement consulting firm he co-founded to specialize in human performance within people-dependent operations. During this time, Jim authored four books, including Future Training: A Roadmap for Restructuring the Training Function. He also assisted many training and development functions with their impact on business performance.

Jim began his career with nine years in industry roles—first as a sales representative with Owens Corning, and later as a product manager and then VP of sales for Automation Industries. Jim’s has a BBA in operations management, an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as an MS in organization development and an EdD in change management from Pepperdine University.
