Dr. Fuller is Assistant Professor of Safety at Illinois State University. Dr. Thomas P. Fuller is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with over 30 years of experience in occupational safety, infection control, industrial hygiene, and public health. He has experience in healthcare, nuclear power plants, municipalities, biopharmaceutical labs, manufacturing, and universities. Dr. Fuller has demonstrated teaching qualification and experience at several universities, and has experience speaking nationally and internationally. Dr. Fuller is a member since 2002, and a past Chair, of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Nonionizing Radiation Committee. He is also a member of the Health Care Working Group, and a founding member of the AIHA Pandemic Planning Team. Dr. Fuller is a Contributing Editor for the American Journal of Nursing and on the board of directors of Health Educators, Inc. He is a member, and the Educational Outreach Committee Chair, of the Illinois Environmental Health Association. Dr. Fuller is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health. Dr. Fuller is a member of the National Safety Council Editorial Advisory Board. Professor Fuller’s research interests focus on occupational and environmental exposure to infectious agents and work organization. He has recently taught professional development courses in the recognition and control of workplace violence. This past semester he led a team of student researchers in an evaluation of community retail readiness and control of workplace violence. This group is preparing materials to conduct a community outreach training session for local retail businesses to help improve workplace safety in a meaningful way.
