Matthew Valencius is the leader of IBM's internal instructional design capability. He and his global team of learning designers are responsible for creating learning for IBM staff across all roles and countries. They are motivated by the fundamental belief that learning design is a broad and deep technology that can help people everywhere improve their performance to be more successful and to create a better world.
Matthew has held many roles within IBM Learning, and has consistently created innovative and award-winning training offerings and technologies. He is an experienced learning designer, consultant, application architect, and project manager. Matthew lives in the Boston area and holds an MBA with a specialization in HR management from the Edinburgh Business School of Heriot-Watt University, plus an engineering degree from Harvard College.
